Over a 14 year span, Kai Schömann has held key managerial marketing and sales positions at some of the world's most influential travel and hospitality marketing companies including The Great Hotels of the World, Park Plaza Hotels, Starwood Hotels and Disneyland Paris Business Solutions.
Kai was born and raised in Germany. He then lived in Paris for 7 years and then moved on to London. Kai Schömann acquired valuable management experience at The Great Hotels of the World where his last assignment was Director of Client Care in the company's very successful Account Management Division. At the world's premier Sales & Marketing Alliance, Kai led teams which were responsible for sales and marketing in the areas of corporate travel, leisure FIT, and meeting and incentive planning.
In his 14 year career, Kai has honed exceptional skills and has developed a thorough understanding of the distribution of hotel products to each market segment; travel trade, consumer, leisure, corporate as well as meeting and incentive. Kai is keenly aware of the 'drivers' that each market segment responds to and he understands the tools and technologies most suitable with which to address them.
The hotel/travel industry is a business still driven by personal contacts. Throughout his career, Kai has developed very strong personal contacts with many influential travel buyers and industry leaders.

Claudia Schuitemaker has nearly twenty years experience in the travel and hospitality industry. Originally from the Netherlands, she's been working in the UK for the past 15 years.
Before joining hotel republic ltd, Claudia worked for four years at Kempinski Hotels, managing their Global Sales Office in the UK. She was responsible for MICE sales for the UK market.
Previously, Claudia worked in the London sales office for Disneyland Paris for 7 years. She later joined Starwood and Park Plaza Hotels. She also managed the Global Sales team for Raffles Hotels in the UK.
Claudia is managing the sales team here at hotel republic ltd. The hotel/travel industry is a business still driven by personal contacts. Throughout her career, Claudia has developed extremely strong relationships with many influential travel buyers and industry leaders. Claudia and her team will open these doors for the hotels we represent.

Janet used to be the International Account Director at Marriott Global Sales Office in London for 4 years and joined hotel republic to look after the key MICE agents in the UK. Janet was born and raised in Ireland.
Janet has a fantastic reputation among MICE event organisers in the UK and she's worked with most of the well-known agents. Janet's never happier than when she's on the road, building strong relationships with MICE agents and tour operators. She's also exceptionally good at organising consumer promotions and travel-trade networking events.
She's travelled extensively across the world, and now you, and we, will benefit from her skills and experience in the international trade market.

Owen Thomas is a well-known television journalist who is one of the main anchors on Bloomberg.
He is the co-host of "Countdown," a weekday program that opens the European business day with coverage of the top business, economic and political stories impacting the global marketplace.
Owen is an associate member of our team. Owen advises hotel republic on media relations and the PR side of our work. He is also the brain behind our newsletters, proposal and websites. Every document that we send out will be proof read by him. He also advises our hotels on brochure texts.

Cynthia is the latest member of hotel republic's team. We needed a sales manager just to look after Mövenpick's breath-taking Mauritius Resort & Spa and Cynthia fitted the bill perfectly.
Cynthia started to work with us in April 2007. We needed a sales manager just to look after Mövenpick's breath-taking Mauritius Resort & Spa and Cynthia fitted the bill perfectly.
Fluent in English, French and Creole - Cynthia grew up on the Island and gained valuable business experience as a Sales Manager at one of the leading hotel groups in Mauritius.
She then came to London as a Business Development Manager for one of the capital's prestigious hotel. She's particularly excited to be able to market such a fantastic resort on an island she loves for hotel republic. Cynthia's role is to contract Tour Operators who have business for Mauritius and to work closely with corporate companies who use Mauritius for Incentive trips.

Zarina Mahmood is working in our Sales department.
Zarina's role is to find new corporate companies that will confirm Meetings and Conferences for our member hotels. Zarina is also looking after key MICE agencies in London and also in the North of the UK. Zarina travels several times per year to Manchester and Leeds to present to our key MICE agents.
In London she is primarily targeting corporate Meeting planners from blue chip companies from the sectors of Banking Finance, Law, Management Consultants, Automobile, Media, and many more.
Zarina joined us from the Cavendish Hotel in London in June 2009 where she was Corporate Sales Manager. Before she used to work at the Strand Palace Hotel in London where she was also in charge of the corporate accounts.

Chris Xenophontos joined our ever expanding team at hotel republic in a senior role in September 2008. Working as a Senior Regional Sales Manager, his job, primarily, is to target corporate Travel Managers to discuss preferred RFP opportunities for our client Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts.
Chris, who was born and raised in London, has more than 22 years experience in the hospitality and travel world, working in many roles from hotel operations, buying and supplying. He even had his own restaurant business and entertained clients such as David Beckham and Rod Stewart.
He's an expert in the corporate and financial sector and was a Key Account Manager for three and a half years with the Ascott Group before joining hotel republic. Clients were mainly based in the City of London and he worked with global investment banks, TMCs, conference agents and corporate housing departments.

Rachel has joined us right after finishing secondary school for a yearlong apprenticeship scheme.
Rachel is assisting our Sales Managers and Director on the day to day tasks. She writes our Sales reports, validates our database, does research on new accounts and completes our enquiry reports for our hotels.
